Do DVD Information Products Really Make Money?
It's common knowledge that information products have high margins. Information in all forms (books, ebooks, CDs, DVDs, online videos, etc) commonly sells for multiples of 10, 50, 100 times the unit cost of manufacturing the product. It's no wonder there are so many information marketers. Those healthy margins tend to attract a crowd. There are many mediums from which to choose for information products but DVDs might be the best way to go. Don't listen to the misguided fools who'll try to tell how difficult is to make a DVD, how you'll have to buy expensive software, and how you'll have to deal if inventory & shipping nightmares because none of that is true. The reality is those people are too lazy to look around and see how simple it is to create a DVD information product. You'll be amazed at how simple it is to create DVDs with inexpensive software. The few software programs I are so inexpensive they're free. You can download these programs for free on the Internet and their brain dead simple to learn and use. One of the programs even has a user forum where the developers will answer your questions. The support I've gotten on this free software program is phenomenal considering it doesn't cost a dime. As for manufacturing & shipping, there are several options. The one I use (Kunaki) will create & ship the DVD on demand at their facilities and pass the costs on to the customer. They charge less than $2 for the physical DVD (including DVD cover) and a nominal $3 handling charge. And first class shipping via the US Postal Service to most US locations is less than $2 as well. Customers have the option of paying more for speedier delivery if they so choose. All you have to do is upload the files to the publisher and drive traffic to your order page. It couldn't be much simpler. There are lots of great reason for information businesses to love DVDs. Consider the higher perceived value of DVDs when pitted against books or ebooks. How much does a book cost? For $20 or less anybody can go to their local bookstore and pickup a book on just about any topic imaginable. You're nuts if you think your book will sell for much more than that. It's not unusual for DVD information products to sell for more than $100...and Kunaki only charges about $2 to manufacture your DVD. The profit margins on information products can be gargantuan. And since Kunaki allows you to self-publish your DVD, you keep 100% of the profits for yourself. The service I use also provides the option of putting a UPC code on the product. This may not seem like such a big deal but this makes it incredibly easy to sell your DVD on Amazon. Talk about instant credibility. While most information marketers are schlepping their DVDs on homemade websites, yours is available on Amazon so it must be better. Not all DVD information products are video products. Items like software programs can be put on data DVDs along with many more types of information and data. And we're barely scratched the surface. There are so many great reason to create a DVD that I couldn't cover them in this article.
Tim Gary knows how to build one way links (http://www.blogcarnivalz.com). Here's what he said: "In the first month alone, I counted 31 new one way links and a noticeable increase in traffic too. The service is ideal for anyone who wants to increase their incoming links ranking, and traffic on autopilot."
