Abt Electronics Shifts Focus in Response to Toshiba's Announcement That It Is Stopping HD DVD Production

Glenview, IL (PRWEB) February 29, 2008 -- Toshiba's announcement that it will stop production of HD DVD players has spurred the Chicago-based Abt Electronics store (http://www.AbtElectronics.com) to shift its focus towards Blu-ray players, and to increase its Blu-ray inventory in order to meet customer demand for this product. Other electronics stores will likely be making similar adjustments.

After Toshiba's announcement, Abt Electronics noticed a surge in the number of customers searching for Blu-ray players. This sharp increase is being seen in many electronics stores around the world, with some reporting up to a 150% increase in the number of customers looking to buy this hot item. Abt Electronics expects customer interest levels to continue to grow as the price of Blu-ray players, which will eventually replace standard DVD players (http://www.abtelectronics.com/category/6.html), drops over time.

Abt Electronics is already in the process of phasing out the HD DVD models it has remaining, and has expanded its selection of Blu-ray players to include brands like Denon, Pioneer Elite, Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic and Sony (http://www.abtelectronics.com/store/sony).

Toshiba's decision will, in the end, turn out to be beneficial for Abt Electronics, by allowing the store to focus exclusively on one high-definition format, and thereby increasing its expertise with Blu-ray equipment.
