Copy Important Classics From VHS To DVD
Memories fade and so do vhs tapes, fortunately dvds last longer. You may have many family memories on home videos on vhs tapes. Unfortunately these do not last very long. Over the years the quality of vhs will begin to become diminished. vhs tapes will start to wear out after being played many times over. If you want to preserve those memories you will need to convert your vhs to dvd. This is done in many ways. The process is a little more complicated that converting other formats, because most vhs videos are recorded on tapes and are not stored elsewhere. If you own a small portable video friendly storage device you can watch movies basically anywhere. This could be your iPod, Zune video, Palm or many other devices. If you have a dvd and want to use a video converter to make the video friendly for your little device, this is completely understandable as many different formats can be used from dvds to little devices. There are many programs that will allow you to watch a dvd on your little device. Videora is a straightforward video converter program that will get your dvds running quickly and smoothly on your iPod. The easiest way to convert vhs to dvd is to get an outside company to do it for you; of course, this will not be the cheapest way. If you choose to get an outside company to do it, they will convert all your vhs tapes and you will get them back in the form of dvds. This makes it a more permanent memory and is easier to store. If you want to make the vhs to dvd conversion on your own, you have many options. These options are usually time consuming. One of the most time consuming ways is to capture the vhs video using an analog-to-DV converter. This will capture the video on your computer. You must encode it to MPEG-2 and author a dvd. If you want to make edits to your existing video, this is the best option, though it will take you hours and hours just to finish converting one hour of video. It is faster, if you use a hardware capture device to convert your vhs tapes to MPEG-2 but the limitation is that you wont be able to perform extensive edits. The advantage is that one hour of video is converted to MPEG-2 in just one hour, not in hours. When you have the MPEG-2 video, it can be burned on dvd. If the videos you want to convert are on your camcorder, then the procedure is simple attach the camcorder to a dvd recorder and the vhs will be copied to dvds right away. If you dont need to make edits to your video and want to transfer it to dvd as it is, choose this option. Obviously, there are many ways to convert your vhs movies to dvd. It is up to you decide which way to go the fastest, the cheapest, or the easiest.
